Time: 2:00pm - 3:30pm
Venue: Cowandilla Primary School - 21 Jenkins St, Cowandilla 5033 - Free parking
Cost: $10 for JAFA members, $15 for non-members

Fee includes instruction, materials (1 Sashiko pre-printed fabric panel, 1 Sashiko thread skein, 1 Sashiko Instruction), coffee, tea and biscuits. Sashiko needles can be substituted by embroidery needles, but participants can purchase Sashiko needle set (1 short, 1 long) for AU$3. Participants can purchase more Sashiko panels or skeins if required.

Hiroshima Day Peace Vigil - Sunday 6 August 2017

Join Australian Red Cross to mark the 72nd anniversary of the atomic bomb detonation over Hiroshima, Japan. We invite the community to come together to remember the victims of this attack and to highlight the devastating humanitarian consequences of nuclear weapons.

This year, Adelaide will be hosting a public A-bomb exhibition with artifacts. The exhibition is being organised jointly by the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons Australia (ICAN Australia) and the Australian Red Cross.

The UniSA Library will be holding a display of its collection of manga and anime material in the Student Lounge of Magill Library from 15 October – 16 November 2012.

The display title is 'Universe of Imagination: The Many Worlds of Japan', which embraces the strong focus of the collection on speculative ideas – manga, science fiction, parapsychology – as well as allowing for an examination of Japanese perspectives on world cultures.

 

JAFA is hosting its first Barossa Valley winery tour! Come along for a day filled with local wines, food and fun.


Date: Saturday 28 November
Venue: Barossa Valley, South Australia

Departure: 7:45am sharp; GPO, King William Street, Adelaide 5000

This is a full-day tour, and will be returning to the CBD at approximately 6pm the same day.

The tour will include a stop at the buzzing Angaston Farmer's Market for a taste of local produce, sampling local wine at various internationally-recognised wineries, Maggie's Beer Farm shop for delicious goodies and a BBQ lunch at the beautiful Seppeltsfield Gardens.

The tour is open to both JAFA members and non-members alike. There is a discounted rate for JAFA members, however non-members can opt to purchase their ticket plus a JAFA membership (for more information about being a JAFA member, click here).

JAFA's Kodomo No Hi Japan Festival is the biggest Japan festival in Adelaide with a 20 year history. The day is filled with Japan-related performances, exhibitions, activities, stalls and plenty of Japanese food.

JAFAの開催する子供の日のお祭りは、アデレードでは20年の歴史を誇る最大級の日本のお祭りです。お祭りでは日本に関する催し物や展示、そして露天商に日本料理の出店が立ち並びます。
