Keep the cold weather away at our annual "Nabe night"
Nabe (nabemono) is a soup/stew cooked at the table and enjoyed in the colder months.
This is what Sato Restaurant will be serving up for us...
寄せ鍋 (よせなべ) - hotpot with an assortment of ingredients (chicken, fish, seafood, vegetables etc.)
ハマチ (はまち) - “yellow tail”
茄子田楽 (なすでんがく) - grilled or oven-baked eggplant with sweet Miso sauce
焼き鶏 (やきとり) - yakitori
ご飯（ごはん）- rice
味噌汁 (みそしる）- miso soup
アイスクリー厶 ice cream

A strong crowd of 60 members and friends stayed well into the evening to celebrate our final get-together for 2009. Please find some pictures below.
Heather Smith gave us an amazing show of her enka talent, while our special guest Mr Santa Claus helped spread the Christmas cheer as we all worked on "forgetting the year".

JAFA runs regular origami and calligraphy classes. Beginners to advanced welcome!
When: Every first and third Saturday of the month (some exceptions)

Our major event each year is the Golden Week Japan Festival held to coincide with the holiday period in Japan. A well attended public event, the Kodomo no Hi celebration lets you enjoy a variety of exhibitions, displays and performances plus some great Japanese food! This year will be just as good with participants coming from Japan again.

Kodomo No Hi Children's Day is over for another year. It was held at the Cowandilla Primary School on Sunday, 2 May, 2010.
