JAFA Mid-Winter Dinner 2019

JAFA's annual Mid-Winter Dinner will be held on Friday 2 August from 6pm. This year we'll be warming up at Wasai Japanese Kitchen.

This is a great opportunity to meet other JAFA members, or those with an interest in Japan, and socialise in a relaxed environment. Everyone is welcome - you don't have to be a JAFA member to come along!

The cost is just $25 for JAFA financial members and $35 for non-members. Food is provided in a buffet form, with a vegan option available.

After the highly acclaimed sold-out shows in 2018, Japanese-Brazilian Bossa Nova queen, Lisa Ono, is bringing her warm smile and beautiful music back to Australia again in 2019! Collecting musical inspiration from Brazil in a Japanese family, Lisa Ono is the talented singer who brought Bossa Nova to Asia. Her 1999 album “Dream” had been sold more than two hundred thousand copies in Japan. Since then she has been known as a central figure in the Japanese Bossa Nova community.

Japanese Style Card Making Class - Kids Only

Make cute and cool greeting cards with ORIGAMI! Learn how to make a couple of origami motifs with origami paper and make your own Japanese style cards. The fee includes origami paper, card stocks and other materials for two greeting cards.

This class is for year 1-7 primary school students ONLY. Please see below for our adults class.

AnimeGO! Short Film Competition 2019

WIN A TRIP TO JAPAN!

Registrations are open for our AnimeGO! short film competition with the first prize being a trip to JAPAN!

Do you have what it takes? Create a short animated film with this year's theme of 'Hachiko'. Last year's judging panel featured representatives from all three South Australian universities as well as Joseph Mitchell, OzAsia Festival Artistic Director.

Competition closes 31 August 2019 with the winner to be announced at our event in October.

Barossa Winery Bus Tour

Join JAFA for a day filled with local wines, food and fun on our Barossa Winery Bus Tour!

When: Sunday 24 March
Depature: 7:45am, Adelaide GPO

This is a full-day tour, and will be returning to the CBD at approximately 6pm the same day.

The tour includes private bus pick-up from Adelaide CBD, wine tastings and a BBQ lunch (vegan option available).

The tour is open to everyone, however spots are limited and bookings must be made in advance.
