Barossa Winery Bus Tour

Join JAFA for a day filled with local wines, food and fun on our Barossa Winery Bus Tour!

When: Sunday 24 March
Depature: 7:45am, Adelaide GPO

This is a full-day tour, and will be returning to the CBD at approximately 6pm the same day.

The tour includes private bus pick-up from Adelaide CBD, wine tastings and a BBQ lunch (vegan option available).

The tour is open to everyone, however spots are limited and bookings must be made in advance.

Mizuhiki Class - Thursday 21 March

Mizuhiki is a decorative cord, made from paper, used for gifts. It is like a ribbon for gift wrapping. Create a unique card using this beautiful technique! 

When: Thursday 21 March
Time: 10am - 11:30am
Venue: Multicultural Communities Council of SA (MCCSA) - 113 Gilbert St, Adelaide 5000
Cost: $5 per person for JAFA members, $10 for non-members

Fee includes: Instruction, Materials (MIZUHIKI cords, Card stocks, Envelopes and Card Making parts), coffee, tea and biscuits. Please bring your own craft scissors and any card making materials.

J-Kai

J-Kai is JAFA's monthly social event that has been running since 1998. It provides an opportunity for Japanese and Australians with an interest in Japan to meet in a relaxed atmosphere. You don't have to be a JAFA member or speak any Japanese, just come along! Anyone can join and it's free.

Date: Every 4th Wednesday of the month
Time: 6-9pm
Location: Metropolitan Hotel - 46 Grote Street, Adelaide 5000 (opposite Central Market)

Sashiko Class - Saturday 2 March

Our first two Sashiko classes have proved very popular and booked out quickly - register today so you don't miss out!

When: Saturday 2 March
Time: 2:00pm - 3:30pm
Venue: Cowandilla Primary School - 21 Jenkins St, Cowandilla 5033 - Free parking
Cost: $10 for JAFA members, $15 for non-members

Fee includes instruction, materials (1 Sashiko pre-printed fabric panel, 1 Sashiko thread skein, 1 Sashiko Instruction), coffee, tea and biscuits. Sashiko needles can be substituted by embroidery needles, but participants can purchase Sashiko needle set (1 short, 1 long) for AU$3. Participants can purchase more Sashiko panels or skeins if required.

Sashiko Class

Homestay Families Required - PGHS

Parafield Gardens High School is looking for people to join their homestay program. We host two regular study tours each year, and our next one will be from March 9-16, 2019. Students are from our sister school in Yokohama, and all participating homestays will receive a small reimbursement to cover living costs during their stay.
