Dr Yasushi Horikawa is chair of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space
In addition to his United Nations role, Dr Horikawa is a Technical Counsellor and former Executive Director of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) responsible for the development, utilisation and operation of Earth observations, communications, broadcasting and global positioning satellites. His lecture will provide a fascinating insight into the current state of global cooperation in space activities from the perspective of one of Australia's closest strategic partners.
