The OzAsia Festival kicked off to a great start with the Moon Lantern Festival on 3 October. The festival will be running through until 17 October with many great shows and events.

JAFA was involved in the Moon Lantern Festival with the Ayako-mai folk dance group performing on the main stage and also with an origami and calligraphy workshop in the Santos marquee. Details can be found below.

Ayako-mai Folk Dance Stage Performance Time: 16:41–16:51pm Description: Group of dance performers in colorful costumes Directed By: Munetaka Umehara
Origami and Calligraphy Workshop Time: 15:00–17:30pm
Description: Display of various finished works, visitor’s personal name written in Japanese with brush and ink, plus come and try a session of origami and calligraphy Instructed By: Emiko Mayer, Machiko Dunphy and Makiko Bache
